How does community moderation work?

16 May 2026 19 views Expert Review Authentication Community

What happens to a new post

Posts move through review states: pending, approved, needs edit, or rejected. Needs edit means it is close but something has to change, and you can update it yourself.

What moderators can do

  • Approve, reject, or ask for edits
  • Archive, lock, restore, or pin a thread
  • Hide or restore comments
  • Review reports and restrict accounts

Expert replies and accepted answers

  • On an authenticity check, the person who posted can mark it solved
  • The author or a moderator can accept a top-level reply as the answer
  • Some replies are marked as expert replies through moderation tools

Reporting something

Use the report option on the post or comment rather than replying to argue. Reports go to moderators with the context attached.

Community opinion is not a valuation or an authenticity ruling, including when a reply is marked as an expert reply. A thread cannot settle a dispute about an order. Use the order support tools for that.
