What you are seeing

The coin, note, or card that arrived looks wrong to you, and you suspect it is a reproduction or a forgery.

Why it happens

Counterfeits exist in every collectibles market, and Indian coins and older banknotes are copied often. Expert review checks that a listing is accurate and complete. It does not certify that the item in the seller's hand is genuine, so a listing passing review is not a guarantee of authenticity.

How to fix it

Step 1: Do not mark the order Received.

Step 2: Photograph the item properly: front, back, edge, and close-ups of lettering, mint marks, or the print detail that looks wrong. Use daylight, no flash.

Step 3: Raise a support ticket from the order page and say specifically what looks wrong, not just that you think it is fake.

Step 4: Post the same photos in the community as an authenticity check. Other collectors often spot the giveaway quickly, and their replies help your case.

"It feels wrong" is hard to review. "The mint mark is in the wrong position and it weighs 2g under standard" is not.

Selling counterfeits is not allowed on eBuy. If it is confirmed, the listing is removed and the seller's account is actioned, separately from your refund.

How long it should take

These take longer than a simple damage claim because they need specialist assessment. Raise it inside the return window even if you are still gathering opinions.

If it is still not resolved

Reply in the same ticket with anything new, including community replies. If you disagree with the outcome, use the escalation route.
