The listing form — what to expect
eBuy's listing form is a multi-step process designed to capture the specific attributes of collectibles. You move through these stages:
- Basic details — title, category, and a short description
- Category & attributes — specific fields that vary by category (denomination, year, country for coins; set, edition, rarity for cards; etc.)
- Media upload — photos and optional video
- Pricing & condition — asking price, condition grade, and whether the item is raw or graded
- Review & submit — final check before sending to admin review
Choosing the right category
Every category on eBuy has specific attribute fields. Choosing the wrong category means buyers searching by denomination, era, or set will miss your listing. Take time to pick the most specific category:
- Coins — use Coins > [country] > [era or series]
- Banknotes — use Banknotes > [country] > [series or denomination]
- Stamps — use Stamps > [country] > [era or topic]
- Trading cards — use Trading Cards > [game or sport] > [set or product]
Condition grading guidance
Buyers on eBuy make purchase decisions based on your condition description. Inaccurate grading is the leading cause of "not as described" disputes.
- For raw items (coins, notes, stamps, ungraded cards) — describe visible wear, marks, toning, creases, or handling signs honestly. Use standard grading language: UNC, AU, EF, VF, F, Fine, Poor for coins and notes; NM, LP, MP, HP for trading cards.
- For graded items (PSA, BGS, SGC slabs) — enter the exact grade and cert number. Do not describe the grade as higher than what is on the label.
- If in doubt about a grade, go one grade lower rather than one grade higher. A buyer who receives a better item than expected is happy; a buyer who receives a worse item raises a dispute.
Photo best practices
Photos are the most important part of your listing. Use natural daylight or a diffused lamp — avoid flash glare, shadows, and camera shake.
- Photograph front and back of every item
- Include a close-up of any defect, damage, or toning so buyers can see exactly what they are buying
- For coins — photograph at an angle to show edge and relief; avoid a dead-on overhead flash that hides detail
- For cards — photograph the front, back, and a close-up of any whitening, scratches, or print lines
- For notes — photograph under flat lighting to show paper quality and watermarks
- Upload at least 3 photos; 5–8 is ideal for anything above ₹500
Writing a title and description that sells
- Title — include the most searchable identifiers: country, year, denomination, series or set, grade. Example: "1950 Republic India 1 Rupee Coin UNC" or "2023 Pokémon 151 Mew ex SAR PSA 10".
- Description — describe exactly what the buyer will receive. Mention any flaws first. State whether the item is raw or slabbed. Include the cert number for graded items.
- Avoid vague phrases like "nice condition" or "good for age" — use specific grade language.
Pricing guidance
Research recent sold prices on eBuy and other Indian collectible platforms before setting your asking price. Overpriced listings sit unsold; underpriced listings can attract buyers who later claim the item is not worth what they paid.
What happens after you submit
New listings go to eBuy admin review before they go live. This is typically completed within 1 business day. You will receive a notification when the listing is approved or if changes are requested. Listings that violate category rules, grading standards, or prohibited-item policies will be rejected with a reason.
