I got an order. What do I do now?

11 May 2026 69 views Selling Packaging Shipping

When a buyer pays, you get an email and the order appears under Seller → Orders. Check the item, the delivery address, and any note from the buyer before you start packing.

Post within two working days

That is the expectation. If you cannot, message the buyer on the order thread and tell them why before the two days are up. Silent delays get escalated automatically and can lead to the order being cancelled.

Marking it shipped

Step 1: Open the order under Seller → Orders.
Step 2: Click Mark as Shipped.
Step 3: Enter the courier — India Post, DTDC, Blue Dart, Delhivery, or another.
Step 4: Enter the tracking number exactly as printed on your receipt.
Step 5: Submit. The buyer is told at once and can follow the parcel.
Never enter a made-up tracking number to buy time. It is a policy breach and it counts against your seller standing.

Which courier

  • India Post Speed Post — widest PIN code coverage and cheapest for light items. Use Speed Post or registered post, never ordinary post
  • DTDC — good all-India coverage, sensible rates for 500g to 1kg
  • Blue Dart — faster and better tracking, worth it for expensive items
  • Delhivery — strong tracking, competitive rates

Why this protects you too

Your payout is held until the buyer confirms receipt. If they raise a damage claim, it stays held while it is reviewed. Good packing and a real tracking number are what settle those claims in your favour. Keep the courier receipt until the payout lands.
