If you are buying
You pay the item price plus Shipping & Protection. Nothing is added on top. eBuy charges buyers no fee for using the marketplace.
If you are selling
Two charges come out of your payout, both worked out on the item price:
| Charge | Rate | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee | 5% | Running the marketplace: listing review, buyer protection, support, and payment handling |
| Payment gateway fee | 2% + 18% GST on that 2% | What Razorpay charges to collect the buyer's money |
Shipping is passed on to you
The shipping the buyer paid comes to you as part of your payout, because you are the one who pays the courier. The platform fee is never charged on it.
A worked example
You sell an item for ₹100 and the buyer pays ₹100 shipping, so ₹200 in total.
- Platform fee, 5% of the ₹100 item price — ₹5
- Payment gateway fee, 2% plus GST on the full ₹200 — ₹4.72
- Your payout — ₹190.28
You then pay the courier out of that. The gateway fee applies to the whole ₹200 because that is what the payment provider charges to collect it.
What is not charged
- No listing fee. Listing an item costs nothing, however long it stays up
- No fee if it does not sell. Charges apply to completed sales only
- No platform fee on shipping. The 5% is worked out on the item price alone
- No charge for expert review. Reviewers are paid by eBuy out of the platform fee, not deducted from you
How experts are paid
Items that go through expert review earn the reviewer 1% of the item price. This comes out of eBuy's 5% platform fee rather than being added on top, so eBuy keeps 4% on a reviewed item. It does not change what you receive.
Timing matters as much as the rates
- The buyer has to confirm delivery
- The return window has to close
- An open refund or return holds the payout
- A short waiting period runs after that
