KYC Verification & Document Privacy on eBuy

Why eBuy requires KYC

eBuy operates as a marketplace that processes real payments to sellers. Before payouts can be released, eBuy must verify seller identity for RBI-compliance, fraud-risk assessment, and marketplace trust. KYC also ensures that buyers are transacting with real, accountable sellers — not anonymous accounts.

  • Required by Indian marketplace and payment-processing compliance
  • Enables payout processing via the seller's bank account
  • Unlocks live listing publication (drafts can be created before KYC approval)
  • Protects buyers from anonymous sellers

Documents accepted

  • PAN card — mandatory for all sellers. Required for tax and payout processing.
  • Aadhaar card — used for identity verification. Both sides required.

Both documents are required. Partial submissions (PAN only or Aadhaar only) will not pass review.

How to submit KYC

Step 1: Log in and go to Account → Seller → KYC Verification.
Step 2: Fill in your legal name (exactly as it appears on your PAN), PAN number, and Aadhaar number.
Step 3: Upload clear, unobstructed photos of your PAN card (front) and Aadhaar card (front and back).
Step 4: Enter your bank account details for payout — account number, IFSC code, and account holder name.
Step 5: Submit the form. You will receive an email acknowledging receipt.
Warning: Upload documents only through the official KYC form inside your eBuy account. Do not send ID photos, PAN, or Aadhaar via email, WhatsApp, Instagram DM, or any other channel. eBuy support will never ask for documents outside the platform.

What happens after submission

  • KYC submissions are reviewed manually, typically within 1–3 business days
  • You will receive an email when your KYC is approved or if it is rejected with the reason
  • During review, you can continue creating draft listings but they will not go live
  • Payout setup is also on hold until KYC is approved

If your KYC is rejected

The rejection email will explain the reason — for example, blurry document photo, name mismatch, or missing Aadhaar back side. Correct the specific issue and resubmit via the same KYC form. Do not create a new account to resubmit.

  • Blurry or partial document photo — reshoot in natural light, ensure all four corners are visible
  • Name mismatch — your PAN name and Aadhaar name must match (minor spacing differences are fine, substantive mismatches are not)
  • Bank account cannot be verified — check IFSC and account number carefully; one wrong digit fails the payout setup

How eBuy stores and protects your documents

  • KYC documents are stored securely and are not visible to buyers at any time
  • Documents are accessible only to eBuy's compliance and support teams for the purposes of verification, dispute review, and regulatory audit
  • eBuy does not sell or share your KYC data with third parties outside of required regulatory reporting
  • Retention periods are governed by applicable Indian law and eBuy's published privacy policy
